History
2022
We solicited your help to celebrate Diwali (Indian festival of lights) with our unhoused neighbors. Contributors donated money, food, time, and more.
2021
Humanize Homelessness created a custom giving tree for offices. In partnership with local shelters, Humanize curated gift packs for people experiencing homelessness and the shelters that support them.
2020
To bring holiday cheer to the unhoused community in King County, we partnered with WeWork to create a virtual Giving Tree. We supported 5 shelters — Sophia Way, CFH Homeless, New Bethlehem, Acres of Diamond and Friends of Youth.
Oct–Dec 2020
We delivered 40 meals on November 4th and 40 meals on December 8th from Conscious Eatery to women at The Sophia Way — supporting a local restaurant while providing meals to women experiencing homelessness.
June 2020
An online Yoga session on International Yoga Day, with all proceeds going toward our Donate@Distance program supporting shelters across King County.
Feb 2020
Latino music was the theme for the evening at New Bethlehem Project in Kirkland. Cesar and band played amazing festive Latino music — guests recalled memories of Mexico, Texas, and their childhood.
Jan 2020
We enjoyed Italian cuisine and played Charades and Jenga at New Bethlehem Project, chatting as a group about school activities, colleges, and challenges faced by tweens and teens.
Dec 2019
We served Indian Biryani & Mediterranean salad and soup. Kicked off the evening with a Mindfulness activity led by Ashok and played music to celebrate the holidays.
Nov 2018
The Indian Association of Western Washington partnered with Humanize Homelessness to celebrate Diwali with 150 unsheltered people at Congregation for the Homeless, The Sophia Way and New Bethlehem Day Center.
