About the Program
The Know Your Neighbor program provides a safe environment for Humanize Homelessness volunteers to interact with people experiencing homelessness, publish photo stories on social networks using existing homeless shelter connections or their own, and to identify neighbors experiencing homelessness in need of support.
This program aims to put a face on local people experiencing homelessness, to create increased awareness of their plight, and to build connections to support them from the community at large.
Volunteers connect with people experiencing homelessness at local shelters in a safe, respectful environment.
With permission, volunteers publish photo stories on social networks to build awareness and community support.
Identify neighbors in need and connect them with resources, services, and community members who can help.
Every volunteer hour and every dollar makes a difference.
